McLatte?

On the heels of Starbuck's reports that things are slowing down for them, McDonald's has announced they will be adding coffee bars to some of their restaurants. These bars will include baristas and views of the coffee-making process just like standard coffee shops.

I have to admit that over the last year I have become addicted to my daily skim latte, be it hot or iced. Most of them I make myself at home (more on that in a later post), but when I get one out I like the coffee-shop atmosphere - be it Starbuck's or Peet's (when in CA). I have a hard time imagining that same feeling of relaxation going into a McDonald's. I rarely go into McDonald's, because they are loud, busy, bright and usually have too many kids running around.

I'm not overly partial to Starbuck's vs. other brands of lattes, but I just don't see myself getting a McLatte when I splurge.
